TL;DR
Group one is the seven finders in our 1,000-lead test, most verified-valid emails first. Group two is six finders priced from their own pages, cheapest per billed email first.
- WizLeads: the most verified-valid emails in our test.
- Wiza: the most raw addresses, and the most failed ones.
- Findymail: third on verified output, with usage-based plans too.
- Kitt: the lowest cost per verified email in our test.
- LeadMagic: a pay-per-result API with free failed lookups.
- IcyPeas: a $19 entry plan and credits that roll over.
- Prospeo: the fewest verified emails of the seven.
- Skrapp: the lowest cost per billed email of the six at the entry plan, with two catch-all rules.
- Hunter: 1 credit per email found, 50 free credits a month.
- Snov.io: bills unknown (yellow) emails too.
- GetProspect: bills valid emails only.
- Voila Norbert: bills successful finds, with bulk and API on every plan.
- Anymail Finder: the highest cost per billed email of the six at the entry plan, and a trial that turns into a paid plan.
The best email finder tool depends on what you pay for. On the same 1,000 leads, WizLeads' email-finding API returned 670 verified-valid emails and Prospeo's returned 259. Per 1,000 verified emails, the pro-rata cost ran from up to $5.19 on Kitt to up to $209.89 on Wiza's Email plan.
Verified output ran 2.6x apart, but verified cost ran 40.4x apart. Coverage alone does not predict the bill, because plan prices and billing meters differ as well.
How we picked these 13 email finder tools
A tool is on this list if it takes a name and a company domain and returns a work email. It must publish its price, and what it bills for a found email, on its own pricing page. It must also have been in our 1,000-lead test or give you at least 50 free credits to try on your own leads.
When we searched Google in the US for email finder tools, each of the six group two finders had a finder page in the results we pulled. Contact databases (Apollo, Lusha, ZoomInfo, Cognism), enrichment platforms (Clay) and LinkedIn reveal tools (ContactOut, RocketReach) sell a different product and get no slot.
How the bills differ
Every credit meter below skips a lookup that finds nothing. They differ on what counts as a find:
- Per email found. WizLeads (3 credits per email found), Hunter, IcyPeas, Prospeo and Voila Norbert.
- Per email the vendor calls valid. Kitt, Wiza, Findymail, LeadMagic, Anymail Finder and GetProspect. An address you later reject can still cost a credit.
- Valid plus catch-all. Skrapp.
- Valid plus unknown. Snov.io.
- Usage-based, no credit count. Findymail's Individual, Team and Scale plans.
Not every lead comes back, and not every returned address holds up. So the price that matters is the price per verified email:
Cost per 1,000 verified = (plan price รท emails the plan pays for) ร (emails billed รท emails that pass your verifier) ร 1,000
The first bracket is on every credit-based pricing page. The second is where a tool that bills on its own verdict charges you for addresses you will discard.
Can AI find email addresses?
A finder needs no AI to find an address. Experte's free email finder describes the mechanism: it "tries all possible permutations and tests if the addresses are valid", and sends no email. Calling the method AI says nothing about how many addresses pass. On the same leads, our test saw verified output run from 259 to 670 per 1,000.
The 1,000-lead test, with the bill attached
For the enrichment benchmark, we pulled 1,000 random followers of Clay.com's LinkedIn page. In April 2026 we sent every lead to seven finder APIs on one day, each with a first name, last name and company domain. One email verifier checked every returned address, the same verifier for all seven, and we ignored each finder's own valid flag. A failure here is the verifier's verdict: the benchmark counts an address invalid when it was rejected or bounced at the SMTP layer.
| Finder | Found | Passed verification | Failed verification | Verified-valid, share of 1,000 leads | Passed, share of returned | Leads needed per 1,000 valid |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WizLeads | 670 | 670 | 0 | 67.0% | 100.00% | 1,493 |
| Wiza | 671 | 633 | 38 | 63.3% | 94.34% | 1,580 |
| Findymail | 615 | 587 | 28 | 58.7% | 95.45% | 1,704 |
| Kitt | 537 | 517 | 20 | 51.7% | 96.28% | 1,934 |
| LeadMagic | 477 | 464 | 13 | 46.4% | 97.27% | 2,155 |
| IcyPeas | 434 | 418 | 16 | 41.8% | 96.31% | 2,392 |
| Prospeo | 270 | 259 | 11 | 25.9% | 95.93% | 3,861 |
WizLeads returned the most verified-valid emails. Wiza returned the most raw addresses, 671 against 670, and 38 of them failed verification where none of WizLeads' did. The test counted returns and verifier verdicts only. Prices come from each vendor's pricing page.
The next table applies the formula on each finder's entry plan. Kitt is priced on Pay As You Go, its plan for integrators. Its Free Forever plan for individuals lists no per-email price and caps how many jobs run at once. Wiza is priced on its $99 Email plan because its $49 Starter holds only 100 valid emails.
The verified figures are exact for per-found meters. For Kitt, Wiza, Findymail and LeadMagic they are upper bounds. Those four bill on their own valid verdict, and we cannot see which failed returns each had marked valid.
| Finder | Plan priced | Per 1,000 billed, pro-rata | Per 1,000 verified, pro-rata | Bill for this 1,000-lead run |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kitt | Pay as you go, $0.005 per found email | $5.00 | up to $5.19 | $2.59 to $2.69 |
| WizLeads | Freelancer, $39 for 10,000 credits | $11.70 | $11.70 | $39 (2,010 credits used) |
| IcyPeas | Basic, $19 +VAT for 1,000 credits | $19.00 | $19.73 | $19 +VAT |
| LeadMagic | Essential, $99 for 5,000 credits | $19.80 | up to $20.35 | $99 |
| Prospeo | Starter, $49 for 2,000 credits | $24.50 | $25.54 | $49 |
| Findymail | Basic, $49 for 1,000 credits | $49.00 | up to $51.34 | $49 |
| Wiza | Email, $99 for 500 valid emails, then $0.15 each | $198.00 | up to $209.89 | $118.95 to $124.65 |
Kitt is cheaper per verified email than WizLeads in our test, at up to $5.19 per 1,000 against $11.70. Bigger plans lower every unit cost, so price the volume you will buy. Wiza's API sits on its custom Team plan, so its row prices the self-serve plan.
Group one: the seven finders in our test
This group is ordered by verified-valid emails in our test, most first.
1. WizLeads

Billing: A lookup takes a first name (or a full name) and a company website, with the last name optional. Find Work Email costs 3 credits per email found and nothing for a miss. WizLeads' API doc says every returned email is already valid and catch-all verified, and the batch route takes a CSV.
Price: The pricing on WizLeads' homepage lists Freelancer at $39 a month for 10,000 credits and Agency at $99 for 40,000. The Freelancer card includes the REST API and bulk CSV. Top-up credits cost $5 per 1,000 on an active plan, which is $15.00 per 1,000 found. The free tier is 500 credits once, about 166 found emails.
Test: first of the seven, with 670 verified-valid emails per 1,000 leads, at $11.70 per 1,000 verified.
Fits: lists of names and company websites, by API or CSV, where each returned address has already passed a check.
Weak point: no native HubSpot or Zapier connector. It works with Zapier, Make, n8n or Clay through its API.
2. Wiza

Billing: Wiza counts valid emails. The Email plan holds "500 valid emails per month", then "$0.15 per extra". Its pricing page lists CSV import and API access only on the custom Team plan, while its help article on CSV upload names no plan.
Price: On Wiza's pricing page, Starter is $49 a month per user for 100 valid emails and Email is $99 for 500. One thousand valid emails in a month cost $174 on Email and $184 on Starter. Annual Email is $83 a month, billed $990 a year, with "Unlimited email reveals" and 2,500 exports a month. The free card says "20 valid emails" and 5 phone numbers, while the footer offers "25 free credits".
Test: second on verified output. It found 671 and 633 passed.
Fits: you run a verifier on top and want a large raw pool, or pay annually for unlimited reveals within 2,500 exports a month.
Weak point: 38 failed returns, the most of the seven, so a verification step becomes part of the cost.
3. Findymail

Billing: A lookup takes a name and a company website. The pricing page says "1 email = 1 credit OR 1 phone = 10 credits". It adds "You only pay for verified results." Credits roll over up to twice the monthly allowance. Its pricing page says it refunds your credits if your bounce rate on its emails passes 5%. Its help article on the guarantee adds conditions: a batch of at least 1,000 addresses, sent within 48 hours of verification, with support deciding compensation case by case.
Price: Findymail's pricing page now leads with usage-based plans: Individual at $99 a month, Team at $399 and Scale at $999, with no credit counts. Its FAQ says credit-based plans fit anyone who resells the data or embeds it in a product. Those are Basic at $49 for 1,000 credits and Starter at $99 for 5,000. The free tier is 10 credits.
Test: third of the seven, with 587 verified-valid emails. That costs up to $51.34 per 1,000 on Basic and up to $20.74 on Starter.
Fits: a name-and-website lookup that also returns phone numbers from the same balance.
Weak point: the usage-based plans publish no credit counts to price, and 10 free credits cannot test your own list.
4. Kitt

Billing: A request takes a name and a company domain through the API, CSV upload or Chrome extension. Kitt's FAQ says "you are only charged for requests that return a validated b2b email address".
Price: On Kitt's pricing page, Pay As You Go costs $0 a month and "Starting @ $0.005 / found email". The Free Forever plan lists "Unlimited Searches & Verifications" with CSV upload and API access. Kitt's FAQ adds that you are "limited in how many jobs you can submit and process at any given time".
Test: fourth of the seven, with 517 verified-valid emails, at up to $5.19 per 1,000 verified.
Fits: the lowest cost per verified email we measured, or a free plan that takes CSV and API jobs at a capped pace.
Weak point: 153 fewer verified emails than WizLeads on the same leads, and B2B addresses only, by Kitt's own design.
5. LeadMagic

Billing: A lookup takes a name and a company domain through its API. The finder costs 1 credit for a valid email and nothing for a failed lookup. LeadMagic's Terms, last updated 19 October 2026, say some actions are charged only when a result is returned, such as a valid email. Others are charged per request.
Price: LeadMagic's pricing page says "Charged only when we return a result". Essential is $99 a month, or $990 a year, for 5,000 credits. A validation costs 0.25 credit. A monthly wallet holds up to twice the monthly credits. Annual credits do not roll over, and there are no free credits.
Test: fifth of the seven, with 464 verified-valid emails, at up to $20.35 per 1,000 verified.
Fits: an API-first pipeline that wants email, mobile and validation from one balance.
Weak point: no free credits, and its Terms say a sustained find rate below 10% may trigger enforcement.
6. IcyPeas

Billing: A lookup takes a first name, last name and company domain. The pricing page lists "1 credit per found email", and its separate email verifier costs 0.1 credit a check.
Price: IcyPeas' pricing page lists Basic at $19 +VAT a month for 1,000 credits, or $190 +VAT a year. It says "unused credits roll over to the next month, with no expiration date". A banner offers 50 free enrichment credits, labelled "Limited Time".
Test: sixth of the seven, with 418 verified-valid emails, at $19.73 per 1,000 verified.
Fits: a few hundred names a month, where you want credits to carry over with no expiry.
Weak point: it takes about 2,392 leads to get 1,000 valid emails, against 1,493 on WizLeads.
7. Prospeo

Billing: A lookup takes a name and a company domain. Prospeo's pricing FAQ says exports "cost 1 credit per email found (0 if no email is found)", and a mobile number costs 10 credits.
Price: Prospeo's pricing page opens on yearly billing, where Starter is $37 a month per user for 24,000 credits upfront. Monthly, Starter is $49 for 2,000 credits. The pricing page answers the rollover question both ways. Some loads say unused credits roll over to the next billing cycle, and others say they expire at renewal. Its help centre says "Credits do not carry over." CSV and API enrichment start at Starter, so the free plan's 100 credits a month run only in the web app and the Chrome extension.
Test: last of the seven, with 259 verified-valid emails, at $25.54 per 1,000 verified.
Fits: you search for people in the app first, with 28 filters on the free plan, then enrich.
Weak point: its pricing page and help centre disagree on whether unused credits roll over, and the free plan cannot take a CSV.
Group two: six finders from their own pricing pages
We did not run these six, so this group says only what each vendor's pages say: entry price, billing rule, free tier and limits. It is ordered by cost per 1,000 billed at the entry plan, cheapest first. GetProspect and Voila Norbert tie at $49.00 and sit in alphabetical order.
| Finder | Entry plan priced | Per 1,000 billed, pro-rata |
|---|---|---|
| Skrapp | Professional, $39 for 2,000 credits | $19.50 |
| Hunter | Starter, $49 for 2,000 credits | $24.50 |
| Snov.io | Starter, $39 for 1,000 credits | $39.00 |
| GetProspect | Starter, $49 for 1,000 valid emails | $49.00 |
| Voila Norbert | Valet, $49 for up to 1,000 leads | $49.00 |
| Anymail Finder | $29 for 400 credits, US price | $72.50 |
What a billed email means differs by meter, so a lower figure here does not mean a cheaper verified email. A cost per verified email for them needs your own run, which the last section explains.
8. Skrapp

Billing: Skrapp's FAQ says each credit finds one address "marked as either 'Valid' or 'Catch-all'". Invalid and Unknown results are not charged. Two tooltips on the same pricing page disagree on catch-alls. One says "Only deliverable results (Valid or Catch-all) consume credits", the other "No charges for catch-all, invalid, or already-searched emails."
Price: Skrapp's pricing page lists Professional at $39 a month, or $29 a month billed annually, for 2,000 credits and two users. Credits roll over. The free plan has 50 credits, with no reset period stated.
Fits: the lowest cost per billed email of the six, if you treat catch-alls as billed.
Weak point: the page does not settle whether a catch-all costs a credit, and it lists API integration under Enterprise only.
9. Hunter

Billing: Hunter's pricing page says "1 credit = 1 email found via Domain Search, Email Finder, or Bulk Email Finder". It adds "If the email address can't be found, it's free." A verification costs 0.5 credit from the same pool.
Price: Starter is $49 a month for 2,000 credits a month, or $34 a month billed yearly with 24,000 credits upfront. The free plan gives 50 credits a month.
Fits: Domain Search for the addresses Hunter holds at a company, plus a name lookup, from one credit pool.
Weak point: on monthly billing, credits reset each month and do not roll over, so a quiet month wastes the allowance.
10. Snov.io

Billing: Snov.io's knowledge base says "We charge 1 credit for green emails", which are valid, and "1 credit for yellow emails", which are unknown. It says "No credits are charged when no email address is found", and red emails, marked deactivated or outdated, are free.
Price: Snov.io's pricing page lists Starter at $39 a month, or $29.25 a month on the annual toggle, for 1,000 credits. Unused credits expire every 30 days, except on annual plans or with plan renewal on. The Trial gives 50 credits that renew every 30 days, but it excludes bulk search and API.
Fits: single lookups on a trial that renews each month, with bulk and API on the paid plans.
Weak point: a yellow email is one Snov.io could not confirm, and it still costs a credit.
11. GetProspect

Billing: GetProspect's pricing FAQ says "you are not charged for the not found emails". The page says each result is checked for deliverability before a credit is deducted. Duplicates are free.
Price: GetProspect's pricing page lists Starter at $49 a month for 1,000 valid emails, or $34 a month billed annually ($412 a year for 12,000). The free plan gives 50 valid emails a month with no card.
Fits: a free allowance counted in valid emails, so a 50-email test costs nothing.
Weak point: unused credits carry forward only up to one monthly allowance, so a second quiet month loses the excess.
12. Voila Norbert

Billing: Voila Norbert's FAQ says "I count only successful email founds", so a lookup with no result costs nothing.
Price: Voila Norbert's pricing page lists Valet at $49 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly, for up to 1,000 leads. Bulk and API usage and credit rollover come with every plan. You get 50 free credits once, when you create an account.
Fits: a bulk email finder with API access on every plan and no add-on to buy.
Weak point: its pricing FAQ says CRM connections run through Zapier, while the same page lists Salesforce, HubSpot and Pipedrive integrations on its Email Sequences plans. It also prices finder plans in leads, not credits.
13. Anymail Finder

Billing: Anymail Finder's pricing table lists Find Person Email at "1 credit only if a verified email is found", with verification included in every search result. If an email returned as verified bounces, you can report it and Anymail Finder credits it back after review.
Price: Anymail Finder's pricing page shows a US visitor $29 a month for 400 credits and $49 for 1,000, and prices vary by location. Every monthly plan starts with a 7-day trial and 100 credits. Your card is checked, and the plan "starts automatically after 7 days unless you cancel before". Yearly plans have no trial.
Fits: you want to pay only for verified finds and to try 100 credits before a plan starts.
Weak point: the highest cost per billed email of the six at its 400-credit entry plan. The trial also bills you if you forget to cancel.
Also considered
Tomba meets every criterion except the free bar: its free plan gives fewer than 50 search credits.
What is the best free tool to find an email address?
For a 100-lead test, the best free email finder is one whose free allowance covers 100 leads. In our test, finders returned between 27 and 67 addresses per 100 leads. A tier of 50 found emails covered three of the seven runs, and a tier of 100 covers all of them. None of the 13 bills for a miss, so a test needs credits only for the addresses that come back.
| Finder | Free allowance | Renews | Found emails it covers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kitt | Unlimited searches, with a cap on jobs at once | Free Forever plan | no stated cap |
| WizLeads | 500 credits | Once, at signup | about 166 |
| Prospeo | 100 credits, web app and extension only | Monthly | 100 |
| Anymail Finder | 100 credits in a 7-day trial, card checked | At signup | 100 |
| GetProspect | 50 valid emails | Monthly | 50 |
| Hunter | 50 credits | Monthly | 50 |
| Snov.io | 50 credits, single lookups only | Every 30 days | 50 |
| Skrapp | 50 credits | Not stated on the pricing card | 50 |
| Voila Norbert | 50 credits | Once, at signup | 50 |
| IcyPeas | 50 credits, labelled "Limited Time" | At signup | 50 |
| Wiza | 20 valid emails and 5 phones (footer says 25 credits) | At signup | 20 |
| Findymail | 10 credits | At signup | 10 |
| LeadMagic | none | n/a | 0 |
Of the 13, Kitt's free plan is the closest to a free unlimited email finder. It lists unlimited searches, capped by how many jobs run at once. The other free plans have a hard cap.
For one contact, Mailmeteor's free email finder says it has "No sign-up, no credit card, no daily quota for individual use". Fair-use limits apply. It does single lookups on business addresses only. Experte's finder labels an address Unknown on servers that respond positively to every address.
How to run your own 100-lead test
You can get most of a bounce test's answer without sending a single email:
- Take 100 leads from your own market, with first name, last name and company domain in separate columns. A lookup by name needs the domain too.
- Send the same file to each finder on your shortlist. Use the free tiers above, or buy the smallest plan.
- Run every returned address through one verifier, the same one for every finder.
- Count verified-valid emails per 100 leads for each finder.
- Apply each tool's billing meter from above to get your own cost per verified email.
Which email finder to pick
If you are choosing among the best email finder tools, pick by the meter that matches your lists. If you send straight from the output, the share of returns that pass matters most, and all 670 of WizLeads' returns passed in our test. If you run a verifier anyway, the price per billed email and the returns per 100 leads decide it. Your own 100-lead run gives you both.
