Clearout bills a full credit for every catch-all verdict, and the mode built to resolve catch-alls is priced separately, at a rate its pricing pages do not show. If that is why you want a Clearout alternative, we send-tested six verifiers on the same 1,000 B2B addresses. Five bounced under 1% on the addresses they approved: WizLeads (852 kept), LeadMagic (822), NeverBounce (711), MillionVerifier (709) and Debounce (670). ZeroBounce kept 888 and bounced 3.72%.

Clearout was not in that test, so nothing here says it bounces more or less than any of them. What we can do is set out what Clearout charges by plan type, where its own pages disagree with each other, and what each alternative bills.

Clearout pricing: what it costs and what a credit buys

Clearout's pricing page opens on an Annual tab, and that default shapes most of what gets quoted about it. The Annual view shows $32 a month for 10,000 credits, with a struck-through $40 beside it. That $40 is a struck-through figure, not the price the card sells at. The same 10,000 credits cost $58 a month on the Monthly tab and $65 on the One Time tab, so every Clearout figure in this post carries its plan type. Clearout email verification is priced below; the finder and other services share the same credits.

Plan type10,000 credits100,0001,000,000Note
Monthly$58 a month$360 a month$1,260 a month3,000 credits is $23 a month
One Time (pay as you go)$65$400$1,400closed to new users per the pricing guide, still sold on the pricing page
Annual (billed once a year)$32 a month, $384 a year$112 a month, $1,344 a year$800 a month, $9,600 a yeareach card reads "N Credits Per Month"

Source: clearout.io/pricing, US render with each tab clicked, as of October 2026. Every Annual card reads "N Credits Per Month" (for example "100,000 Credits Per Month") and the FAQ says to pay once a year. The yearly totals ($384, $1,344 and $9,600) are our multiplication by 12, for 120,000, 1,200,000 and 12,000,000 credits.

Per 1,000 credits, Monthly works out to $5.80 at 10,000, $3.60 at 100,000 and $1.26 at a million. One Time is $6.50, $4.00 and $1.40. Those are our divisions.

What a credit buys is set out in Clearout's pricing guide:

ServiceCredits
Email Verifier1 for valid, invalid or catch-all; unknown free; duplicates inside one uploaded list free
Deep Verify (catch-all and gateway mode)priced separately from standard credits; no rate on the pages we read
Email Finder4 per email found, 2 per role-based or alternative address, none when nothing is found
Form Guard2 per name, email or phone validated; unknown free
Data Pulse2 per contact field validated

Throughput and seats are add-ons. Clearout lists $49 a month per extra parallel bulk run, $99 a month per extra 100 requests per minute on the verifier API and $25 per extra seat, and the Pro 10,000 plan carries 55 requests per minute. New accounts get 100 credits once, with no card.

What does the Clearout email finder cost?

The Clearout email finder bills 4 credits per email found. On the Monthly 10,000 plan, 2,500 finds cost $58, which is $23.20 per 1,000 emails found, assuming none are role-based. WizLeads finds a work email for 3 credits, misses free, from a first name and a company website. On the Freelancer plan ($39 for 10,000 credits) that is $11.70 per 1,000 found, about half. Both are unit costs, not bills, and we put the other finders on the same cost per verified email basis.

Why teams look for a Clearout alternative

A Clearout review that stops at the star rating misses three reasons that come from Clearout's own pages, and where those pages disagree we quote both sides.

A catch-all verdict costs a credit, and resolving it costs more

The pricing guide charges 1 credit for valid, invalid and catch-all results. Only unknowns and in-list duplicates are free. Clearout's catch-all page says 40-60% of B2B emails sit behind a catch-all or a Secure Email Gateway, with no source given. On our list, WizLeads' classifier read 212 of 1,000 (21.2%) as catch-all and, as a separate count, 159 (15.9%) as behind a gateway. The two shares overlap in ways we did not isolate, so we do not add them.

Deep Verify is Clearout's mode for catch-all-heavy B2B lists, and it says it detects Proofpoint, Mimecast, Barracuda and Microsoft EOP gateways. The same page says the service is "priced separately from standard credits", and the FAQ points to the pricing page. Neither the pricing page nor the pricing guide shows a Deep Verify rate as rendered, so we do not quote one. Debounce publishes its catch-all price: 10 extra credits per address.

Its refund and its guarantee are written several ways

On refunds, the Terms and Conditions (effective 24 May 2024) say payments "are not refundable under any circumstances". The pricing guide offers a refund within 30 days if your bounce rate exceeds "10-20%", only for the addresses that bounced and not the list, refused once you have used more than 25% of the credits you bought, and not for subscriptions or auto top-ups. We cannot tell you which governs.

On the guarantee, three statements sit side by side. The email verifier page headline says "We Guarantee Your Bounce Rate Stays Below 3%". The pricing guide calls it a "97% deliverability guarantee" that covers Safe-to-Send addresses mailed within 24 hours and excludes .edu domains, free providers such as Yahoo and AOL, and servers behind aggressive anti-spam settings such as Office 365. Its refund trigger, as above, is 10-20%. A 3% bounce ceiling and 97% deliverable read as roughly the same promise, and the refund trigger sits 3.3 to 6.7 times above it. Clearout also states 99.73% accuracy on that verifier page, which we did not test.

For comparison, WizLeads refunds credits, not cash, if your bounce rate exceeds 2% on emails it marked valid, subject to an email infrastructure diagnosis. NeverBounce guarantees no more than 3% bounce, with exclusions that include accept-all and unknown results.

Plan changes cost full price, and pay as you go is open and closed

When switching plans, up or down, Clearout's pricing page says "the full subscription amount" is required and partial refunds are not offered. The pricing guide FAQ says pay as you go "is no longer an available option for new users", while the pricing page still sells a One Time tab labelled Pay As You Go, and its auto-replenishment tops up at the same pay-as-you-go rate. Credits "never expire" in one place, yet the Terms let discounted credits sit idle for a maximum of one year and the pricing guide says they "may come with an expiry date".

How we tested the six alternatives

The email verification benchmark list was 1,000 decision-maker emails at US real-estate agencies, exported from Apollo in April 2026. All six tools got the identical CSV on the same day. We then sent a plain-text message from a clean Google Workspace account to every address each tool approved and counted hard bounces over 72 hours. Clearout was not one of the six.

Two limits travel with every number below. We mailed every address at least one tool approved, so the test counts rejections, not how many were wrong. And at 1,000 addresses the five low-bounce tools are statistically indistinguishable: 4 bounces against 7 is noise. Only ZeroBounce's 33 stands apart.

We rank on one criterion, stated before the results: the most addresses kept while bouncing under 1%. We chose it after the test, not before, and ranking by lowest bounce rate would put Debounce first.

Source: our send test, figures as published on the benchmark page. Bounce rate is bounces divided by the addresses that tool kept. Kept plus rejected is 1,000 for every tool. Debounce's paid catch-all check was not run, so its catch-all flags are unresolved by design of the run, and MillionVerifier flags catch-alls without saying whether they are valid or invalid.

Debounce (0.15%) and NeverBounce (0.56%) both bounced less than WizLeads (0.59%), and they rejected 330 and 289 addresses against WizLeads' 148.

The Clearout alternatives, ranked: five pass, ZeroBounce does not

Each tool gets the same slots in the same order: result, price and the bill, what it bills and how it handled catch-alls, best for, and limitation.

1. WizLeads

WizLeads homepage headline: one tool to scrape, enrich and verify, with Get Started Free and See Pricing buttons

Source: WizLeads homepage.

Result. 852 kept, 5 bounced (0.59%), 148 rejected. The most kept of the five under 1%, though Debounce and NeverBounce bounced less.

Price and the bill. Verification is 0.5 credits per email. The Freelancer plan is $39 a month for 10,000 credits, so 20,000 verifications and $19.50 per 10,000 as a pro-rata unit cost. The bill is $39, against Clearout's $58 Monthly for 10,000 credits.

Billing and catch-alls. Credits are charged for every email processed, whatever the result, so unknowns cost you where Clearout's are free. WizLeads classifies catch-alls as valid or invalid, and in our run it returned a verdict on them. Unused credits roll over for one billing period.

Best for. Teams that also scrape Sales Navigator or find work emails, because one credit pool covers all three. A new account gets 500 free credits once, enough for 1,000 verifications.

Limitation. Unknowns are billed, credits last one billing period against Clearout's never-expire wording, and Reoon and Truelist list lower at 10,000.

2. LeadMagic

LeadMagic homepage headline: turn incomplete lead data into verified, usable records, with plans from $99 a month

Source: LeadMagic homepage.

Result. 822 kept, 7 bounced (0.85%), 178 rejected. It returned a verdict on catch-alls, as WizLeads did.

Price and the bill. Essential is $99 a month for 5,000 credits. Validation costs 0.25 credits, so that covers 20,000 validations: $49.50 per 10,000 pro-rata, billed as $99.

Billing and catch-alls. The pricing page says failed lookups are free, and LeadMagic's Terms, rewritten on 19 October 2026, defer to the pricing page on what each action costs. Monthly plans can bank up to twice the monthly allocation, and annual credits refresh yearly.

Best for. Teams already spending LeadMagic credits on email or mobile lookups, where validation comes out of the same pool.

Limitation. The entry bill is $99, there are no free credits, and payments are non-refundable except where the law requires or a signed agreement says otherwise.

3. NeverBounce

NeverBounce homepage headline calling it a real-time email verifier, with a box to try verifying one address

Source: NeverBounce homepage.

Result. 711 kept, 4 bounced (0.56%), 289 rejected. Of those 289, 79 came back unknown.

Price and the bill. Pay as you go is $50 for 10,000, against Clearout's $58 Monthly. The monthly Growth plan is $49 for up to 10,000.

Billing and catch-alls. NeverBounce states one credit per verification and no exception for unknown or accept-all results. Pay-as-you-go credits expire 12 months after purchase.

Best for. Senders who want a low bounce rate and can afford to lose addresses. New accounts get 10 free credits.

Limitation. It rejected 289 addresses, nearly twice WizLeads' 148, and at a million credits its pay-as-you-go pack is $2,500 against Clearout's $1,260 Monthly.

4. MillionVerifier

MillionVerifier homepage headline: protect your email reputation, beside a sample list verification progress panel

Source: MillionVerifier homepage.

Result. 709 kept, 7 bounced (0.99%), 291 rejected. The shape is close to NeverBounce's: two fewer kept, three more bounces.

Price and the bill. $39 for 10,000, $149 for 100,000 and $449 for a million, as one-off packs.

Billing and catch-alls. It charges for good and bad results. It flagged 170 addresses as catch-all without a verdict, inside its 291 rejections. It credits back unknown and catch-all results, but its Terms call that "a discretionary promotional goodwill programme, not a permanent feature". Credits never expire.

Best for. Occasional cleaning of large lists: at a million, $449 is about 2.8 times below Clearout's $1,260 Monthly.

Limitation. 291 rejections, 170 unresolved catch-alls, and a credit-back rule its own Terms treat as goodwill, so do not budget around it.

5. Debounce

Debounce homepage headline: email validation tool, simple, fast and intelligent, beside its dashboard mockups

Source: Debounce homepage.

Result. 670 kept, 1 bounced (0.15%), 330 rejected. The lowest bounce rate in the test and the most rejections, a third of the list.

Price and the bill. $25 for 10,000, $135 for 100,000 and $750 for a million, pay as you go.

Billing and catch-alls. It bills every call. Resolving a catch-all costs 10 additional credits, 11 in total, and it publishes that rate, which Clearout does not for Deep Verify. We ran the standard check only, so its 201 Accept All flags, inside the 330 rejections, were never resolved.

Best for. Bounce-first senders on a budget, where a lost address is cheap to replace.

Limitation. At the 212 catch-alls per 1,000 that WizLeads' classifier read in our test, resolving every one adds 21,200 credits per 10,000 addresses, 31,200 in all, over three times a standard check.

What about ZeroBounce?

ZeroBounce kept the most addresses, 888, and 33 of them bounced (3.72%), so it fails the criterion and sits outside the ranked five. It is $129 for 10,000 pay as you go with a $39 minimum for 2,000, and unknown results are free. On catch-alls it has two mechanisms: an AI scorer that costs a second credit, and Verify+, which is optional, sends a real test email to check for bounces and costs no extra credit. Its pricing page says credits never expire in one place and ties that to an active ZeroBounce ONE subscription in another. Our ZeroBounce vs NeverBounce comparison goes further.

Priced but not send-tested: Reoon, Truelist and Bouncer

Three more verifiers list prices, and we have no send data on any of them. Reoon sells instant credits at $11.90 for 10,000, $116.40 for 100,000 and $972 for a million, which never expire. It spends a credit on any result except unknown, so catch-alls are billed, and it refunds unknowns. Truelist lists $14, $90 and $700 at the same volumes; we did not read its billing terms for this post. Reoon and Truelist both cost less than WizLeads at 10,000.

Bouncer sells pay as you go at $60 for 10,000, $400 for 100,000 and $2,000 for a million, with a monthly subscription 20% lower ($48, $320 and $1,600). Unknowns and duplicates are free and credits never expire. Its refund wording contradicts itself: the Guarantee page says "money back" for bounced contacts while its 2018 Terms say all purchases are non-refundable, and Bouncer alternatives reads the wording in more depth.

Source: each vendor's pricing page, US prices, as of October 2026. Subscriptions are recurring commitments (Clearout Annual is billed once a year) and the other rows are one-off packs, so the columns are not like for like. Pro-rata is a unit cost, not a bill. For WizLeads we show the smallest plan that carries the volume in one billing period at 0.5 credits per verification.

Clearout's Monthly plan undercuts several of the packs priced here at volume. At a million credits its $1,260 lists below NeverBounce pay as you go ($2,500), both Bouncer options ($2,000 and $1,600), ZeroBounce ($3,199) and its own One Time pack ($1,400). At 100,000 its $360 lists below NeverBounce and Bouncer pay as you go ($400 each) and ZeroBounce ($649). Annual is cheaper again. At 100,000, Clearout's $112 a month lists below Reoon ($116.40), Debounce ($135), MillionVerifier ($149) and NeverBounce Growth ($159), and only Truelist ($90) and WizLeads ($99.50 pro-rata) list lower. At a million, its $800 a month lists below Reoon ($972) and NeverBounce Growth ($999), and only MillionVerifier ($449), WizLeads ($599.50 pro-rata), Truelist ($700) and Debounce ($750) list lower. Annual is paid once a year, so the low monthly figure is a commitment.

When to stay on Clearout

Stay if you use more than verification. Clearout sells the finder, Form Guard for sign-up forms, Data Pulse for CRM contacts and phone validation inside Form Guard, Data Pulse and Prospect on one credit pool, plus a Google Sheets add-on. We did not price a replacement for any of those, so confirm your next tool covers the one you rely on. Unknown results are free, and at volume the Annual plan is Clearout's strongest case: $112 a month at 100,000 credits and $800 a month at a million. Its 1,000,000 Monthly price is also lower than the pay-as-you-go packs from NeverBounce, Bouncer and ZeroBounce. Clearout also says purchased credits never expire.

Stay if the catch-all mode works on your list. Clearout says Deep Verify detects four gateway vendors, and we have no send data on it either way. The way to find out is the test below, with the price of Deep Verify requested in writing first.

How to test on your own list

  1. Run the identical CSV of a list you plan to mail through Clearout and two or three alternatives on the same day. Best email verification tools has the longer shortlist, and best email verification APIs is the one to read for billing and throughput if you verify by API.
  2. Record each tool's kept count, how it labelled catch-all addresses and what it charged for them.
  3. Send only to approved addresses from a clean sender and count hard bounces over 72 hours.
  4. Compare kept counts at similar bounce rates. On 1,000 addresses, a few bounces either way is noise.

Clearout gives 100 free credits once at signup, usable on any of its services, NeverBounce 10, and WizLeads 500, which cover 1,000 verifications. You can open a free WizLeads account, and the 10,000-credit plan is $1 for its first month after signup, an offer visible only once you are logged in.
